After the Paris murders, the far right is spreading fear and launching attacks on Muslims. *Exactly* what the murderers want. Let’s defeat their fear-mongering, and add our global voices to a massive march in Paris tomorrow, saying “We are not afraid, and we will not be divided.”

JOIN IN                                                                                                                             The extremists who slaughtered 12 journalists for printing a cartoon of the Prophet Mohammed are dead. Action is needed.

There have already been two retaliation attacks against Muslims in France, and the warmongers in France and everywhere are mobilising fast, spreading fear and division.

In response, the people of Paris are organising a massive march tomorrow to show their response – not fear of Muslims, but love of liberty, fraternity, equality, and freedom of speech. Let’s join them in a massive global statement that will be carried in the march and reported to the press – “We are not afraid, and we will not be divided.”

Extremists on all sides use brutality and violence to pull the rest of us apart. The truth is, the vast, vast majority of Muslims condemn what happened in Paris, and feel the pain the rest of us feel. But extremists are not confined to one religion or culture – you can find them everywhere. And they leap at opportunities like this to create the conflict they seek.

Taking this eloquent French statement of love and values and making it global will help send a message to all our societies. That the world stands as one against the lunatics that would divide us. That their attempts to play on our fears have failed, and will fail. Our names will be carried in a giant banner of solidarity in the march. Click below to add your voice to this global moment:

In a way, almost every Avaaz campaign involves the large majority of sensible people standing up against the tiny minorities of corrupt or powerful or violent persons that threaten the dreams that the rest of us share. This is one of those moments when the world can come together.

With hope,

Ricken, Emma, Nell, Alice, Pascal and the rest of the Avaaz team.
