Did You Know That Venezuela Banned Guns for Private Citizens 4 Years Ago?

By Daisy Luther
May 26, 2016

The cautionary tale that is the rather spectacular collapse of Venezuela continues. Were you aware that Venezuela banned guns for private citizens a mere four years ago, in 2012? Although the country was already in trouble, it seems like that was the beginning of the end.

Under the reign of Hugo Chavez, the government introduced a law that banned personal purchases of firearms and ammunition in an attempt to “improve security and cut crime.” The law was designed to keep guns in the hands of only police, military, and some security companies.

At the time, Chavez’s government said that “the ultimate aim is to disarm all civilians.” Shortly after the law passed, Chavez lost a battle to cancer, and bus driver Nicolas Maduro became the new president.

Maduro invested $47 million in “disarmament centers” in 2014, where citizens could turn in their firearms without fear of repercussions. This was at about the same time as the government declared that prepping was illegal and those “hoarding” could be detained on criminal charges and when the country instituted a fingerprint registry for purchasing groceries so that they could ensure people only purchased what they were allotted.

But Who Does Disarmament Really Protect?

It’s interesting to note that nearly all repressive regimes take away the means for the people to stand up for their rights. Right before the proverbial S hit the F in Venezuela, guns were taken away from the general public. It was then a slippery slope into chaos as the government failed, socialism itself failed, and the country collapsed.

However, now that the people are ready to revolt against Maduro’s government, they no longer have the means to do so. It’s suicide for unarmed people to fight the well-armed military, something that the government undoubtedly counted on when Venezuela banned guns, disarming the populace.

Meanwhile In America

There are some unnerving parallels we can draw to the disarmament of Venezuela and the plans for America.

Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is adamantly anti-gun. Her own website has a long list of the anti-gun Executive Orders. She could also be the person responsible for choosing Supreme Court Justice Scalia’s empty seat, which will not bode well for the next challenge to the Second Amendment heard by the highest court in the land.

If you’re wondering how this relates to Venezuela, it’s simple.

Our ship here in America is sinking.

Our economy is in the toilet. We may be watching a premonition of our future down there in South America, with riots at the grocery store. With abject poverty. With the third world medical care.

And if the wrong person is making “Executive Orders” and appointing Supreme Court Justices, gun owners could be targeted. (An “Executive Order” applies ONLY within a company. Such as ordering a secretary to get you “a cup of coffee.”)

The American government doesn’t really represent the American people anymore. Do you feel that your wishes are taken into consideration when corrupt politicians benefit from big corporations against the desires of their constituents? Our system is broken, and every day we lose rights, incrementally.

The Second Amendment is not in place so people can go hunting for deer. Thomas Jefferson summed it up.

“The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.”

If you’re watching Venezuela, you understand why you need to be armed.

There are many lessons you can learn from analyzing the fall of Venezuela, like what items they have run out of that you should be stocking up on. You should be buying long-term food, stocking up on medical needs, and preparing for a down-grid scenario.

But as the country descends into chaos, you must also see how it got there. An armed society is a polite society. You’re seeing via the news report what happens to a disarmed society.

There’s a distinct pattern when society breaks down, and as our society becomes more desperate, poverty-stricken, and lacking of moral compass, this trend will become more obvious. Note that the “lacking of moral compass” part doesn’t just refer to the thugs rioting and looting, but also to a certain sector of cops who think that their badges give them permission to be street thugs.

Here’s the pattern:

* An outrage occurs.
* Good people react and protest the outrage.
* Those perpetrating the outrage try to quell the protest because they don’t think that the outrage was actually outrageous. (And whether it was or not can fluctuate – in some cases, force is necessitated, but in more and more cases, it is flagrantly gratuitous).
* Others react to the quelling and join the protest.
* A mob mentality erupts. Thugs say, “Hey, it’s a free for all. I’m gonna get some Doritos and while I’m at it, beat the crap out of some folks for fun.”
* All hell breaks loose.
* The military gets called in.
* Cities burn, neighborhoods get destroyed, and no one in the area is safe.
* Cops act preemptively, out of fear, and for a time, there is no rule of law.
* If you happen to be stuck there, know this: you’re completely on your own.

In an event like this, you can try to call 911, but most likely, the police aren’t going to be coming to save you. You will be completely on your own. Will you be an unarmed, yet law-abiding citizen, hoping to somehow fend off the criminals who must have missed the memo to turn in their firearms? Good luck with that.

Here are 3 reasons to be armed

The thing that I believe it’s important to remember here is that if you have stacked your supplies to the rafters but refused to plan for defending your home and family, you’ve basically just made them bait should a desperate situation arise.

Just in case you think that chaos and violence only happen in places like Venezuela, where they’re undergoing a full-on collapse, the following examples are all from America.

Reason #1: Those who are desperate, unprepared, and feel entitled to be cared for. Remember Black Friday? People climbed all over each other for cheap electronics. Fist fights erupted over vegetable steamers. People were ready to throw down and do battle for sale items. I’d hazard a guess that folks who spend time and money fighting over electronics are not the kind of people who prep. That means that these are the people who will be hungry in a long-term disaster. Look at those people, stampeding to get to a sale on things that they don’t actually need to survive. Their inhibitions are loosened because those around them are behaving in the same way.

You have to look at the psychology of this. People can justify pretty much anything when they or their children are starving. And I can understand that to a large degree – who could stand to watch their babies suffering? But if someone can devolve to the above degree just to because everyone else is doing it, the chaos we saw above is only a tiny sample of what could come if people were truly hungry.

Do you really feel like you could prepare them one meal and they’d go away politely? Do you really think that reason and a polite but firm conversation will be sufficient to make them go away? It only takes one person to start the charge against you in a tense scenario, and when that happens, unless you take swift and shocking action, the others will follow, and your retreat will be overcome. Sort of like when the walkers overtook the prison after the fence got knocked down on The Walking Dead.

Reason #2: Those who are planning to take the supplies of others

But wait, there’s something even worse out there than the hungry unprepared. There are the folks who have built an entire preparedness plan around taking the things that other preppers have stored.

Reason #3: Those who loot and pillage because, doggone it, they like it

Finally, there are those who simply enjoy mayhem. Some people are just waiting for the opportunity to behave in this fashion. They enjoy destroying things and venting their anger on any person who has “more” than they do. They’d love to act like that every single day, but they don’t want to spend the rest of their lives in jail. But when a verdict gets rolled out, when a storm takes out the power, when a disaster strikes, they delight in the chance to rob, pillage, loot, and burn. Who can forget the day before Superstorm Sandy hit the East Coast, when thugs were coordinating looting rampages via Twitter?

In a situation where “everyone” is doing something, they are able to cast off their normal control of their impulses without much fear of reprisal. The number of looters and thugs far outstrips the number of arrests going on in Baltimore, so there’s a very good chance that someone swept up in that mentality can go burn somebody else’s home or business and completely get away with it.

These are the people who burned down their own neighborhoods after the verdict in Ferguson. And what businesses were left untouched? The ones for which the owners stood out front, armed, to defend their property.

Civilization is just a veneer.

Only four short years ago, the people of Venezuela were armed. Look at how the situation has devolved since then. People are starving. They are burning muggers alive. Doctors are doing surgeries in the blood of previous patients.

So many times, when interviewed after a disaster, people talk about being “shocked” at the behavior of others. Their level of cognitive dissonance has lulled them into thinking that we’re safe and that we live in a civilized country. They are unwilling to accept that civilization is only a glossy veneer, even when the evidence of that is right in front of them, aiming a gun at their faces, lighting their homes on fire, or raping their daughters.

They refuse to arm themselves and prepare for an uncivilized future.

Accept it now, and you’ll be a lot better off when the fit hits the shan.

Because people have been ignorant of procedure of common law, they have lost their liberty! Evil has made such headway that ordinary governmental procedures are unable to cure it, then resort to an extraordinary tribunal with considerable powers for a short time. The imagination of the people needs to be struck a hard blow.

September 8, 2011 – at or about 1:30 p,m, Exhibit A was read into the public record during open forum in the People’s Chamber at 825 Fifth Street, Eureka, California -copies of same provided. Intermittently for the next five years copies of (Exhibit A) Cities & Counties May Not Enforce Codes/Ordinances on property that is not owned by Cities/Countieswas provided.

December 31, 2014, alleged* Supervisors and Commissioners Of the COUNTY OF HUMBOLDT (not the republic Humboldt County), were informed of the unlawful Measure Z (1: not a lawful per capita TAX based on the land jurisdiction’s supreme law; 2: majority passed it via evil BAR counsel to BAR’s enabler’s use of deceptive semantics; 3: a ‘county’ lawful TAX only applies to unincorporated county’ areas. AND, any use of deceptive semantics application of coerced “compliance” regarding nature’s sacred sacrament plant (mj/cannabis –Kanabosm).

December 2015, 200 cartons of man-made toxic solutions were donated and approved by same alleged* Supes., [who delegated authority that you and me, the people as constituents, never knowingly granted to them], to a “Health Dept.” for signature on receipt liability upon arrival of same ready-made injections. (No other county in California received such).

It is a maxim of law that, “Authority once delegated cannot again be delegated.”

I also emailed Estelle Fennell instructing her to pull the Marijuana Ordinance item from agenda.

January 2016, as Order Followers* the willingly deaf and profit motivated blind Supes., unlawfully and illegally passed a Commercial Medical Marijuana Land Ordinance” masquerading as law. Counties do not make laws.

Don’t confuse the fraudulent commercial system with lawful government.

February 2016, the Supes., coerced Michael Downey, masquerading as a constitutional land jurisdiction Sheriff, to sign an agreement with the Coast Guard, and the FEDERAL Drug Enforcement Agency -an extension of the FEDERAL Department of Unjustice.

March 2016, the Supes., whine about a “Budget” threatening that Humboldt Parks be signed over to U.S. Inc. More than 50% of the land in Humboldt is recorded as U.S. Inc. property. The land (fact) has been traded for worthless Bonds (fiction).

April 2016, 1,000 More cartons of the same man-made toxic solutions were “approved” for receipt in the same manner as January’s meeting. Man-made pharma drugged people cannot wake up. Partaking of nature’s Kanabosm is not conducive to mind control. A “Trace & Track” company in $witzerland is contacted via “THE STATE’S” Order Givers to local Supes/Order Followers, for $urveillance of, maybe 5 grow$ in Humboldt. Unlawful cost to the people’s public treasury?

May 2016, The “Budget” show is distraction in its finest hour. The Supervisors, Commissioners, Staph, and certainly Banana Republic aka Humboldt Lumber Company deserve an Oscar for their performance.

Meanwhile, Michael Downey aka Sheriff, aka Coroner, aka Administrator (via black robed cabal) of decedent’s Humboldt property (incorporated as self-leasing), is bestowed, for the second time, with Measure Z funds to add more Deputies, more Staph, and more “Patrol” cars. Plus other funding for an armored vehicle, as the nearly 200 homeless people are viet et armis (with force of arms), removed from their encampment that has been in place for ten years, as well as a homeless encampment in Garberville. Way to go public servant impersonators!

I see many properties listed in the Journal to be ‘redeemed’ for non-payment of property tax. I see many properties listed to be sold as “fore-closure” property. I also see a list of properties that were sold for more than the trustee’s balance due, and that amount can be claimed by the rightful original owners.

KNOW THIS: The Tax Collector (John Bartholomew) Office is listed on manta.com as a privately owned company. One with seven or more brain cells connected must question, “How in god’s green earth can a ‘private company’ lawfully ever claim a public position of authority by mailing out property tax statements, notices of foreclosure, and liens, to the Public???

What does one of the career criminal racketeers, John Bartholomew, have in his possession to assume any authority over you and me/us/people??? -No Thing. Zip, Zero. Nada. These entities are in a realm of blither and dather. They are criminals and thieves!

Thursday May 28, 2016 – Police Report: County of Humboldt [INC.] Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement officials found “extensive” marijuana grow with over 2,800 plants at the site of a suspected hash lab fire on Salmon Creek Road in Southern Humboldt.

“Order Followers” the cult of ultimate evil and the destruction of the sacred feminine. We are not experiencing a financial crises, but more correct -a crises of criminality.

It appears that America has awakened to the problem of mass incarceration–an issue underscored by the fact that America holds less than 5 percent of the world’s population but houses about 22 percent of the world’s prisoners. Congress is now making a token effort at criminal justice reform, including the reduction of mandatory minimum sentences for nonviolent offenders, but even this faces opposition from the most fervent police state crusaders.

In the face of inaction, one New York judge is stepping outside the box to breathe life into a much-needed national debate. Judge Frederick Block of the Federal District Court chose not to send a woman to prison who was convicted of felony drug charges, instead sentencing her to probation.

Block said that the plethora of collateral consequences that people face after being convicted—amounting to 50,000 federal and state statutes—serve “no useful function other than to further punish criminal defendants after they have completed their court-imposed sentences.”

In other words, people like Chevelle Nesbeth, who was arrested at Kennedy International Airport after 600 grams of cocaine were found in her luggage, face enough punishment through collateral consequences. There is no reason to send this nonviolent “offender” to jail.

According to the New York Times:

In the opinion, the judge said he considered her crimes to be serious and called her criminal conduct “inexcusable.” But he also listed an array of consequences that she would quite likely face as a result of her felony drug convictions, like being ineligible for grants, loans and work assistance for two years, the duration of her college career.

He noted that the inability to obtain housing and employment stemming from a conviction often results in “further disastrous consequences, such as losing child custody or going homeless,” and leads to many ex-convicts’ “becoming recidivists and restarting the criminal cycle.”

Block is doing what someone called a “judge” is supposed to do by applying factual information and rationality to the situation.

Instead of going to prison for 33-41 months, Nesbeth—who said that friends gave her the suitcase and she was unaware of the contents—was sentenced by Block to “one year of probation, to include six months of home confinement and 100 hours of community service.”

While the larger issue of the unlawful War on Drugs remains, it is heartening to see that some within the system understand the draconian nature of the existing criminal ‘justice’ system. And they’re doing something about it.

Judge Block’s extraordinary act comes just after U.S. Rep. Dana Rohrabacher admitted that he used medical cannabis to treat his arthritis. It is increasingly obvious that U.S. INC’s/gov’t approach to drugs, whether medicinal or not, is completely irrational and greatly contributes to mass incarceration.

In his 42-page opinion which also called for reform, Block quoted legal scholar Michelle Alexander, who authored The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness. From the book:

Today a criminal freed from prison has scarcely more rights, and arguably less respect, than a freed slave or a black person living ‘free’ in Mississippi at the height of Jim Crow.

Block’s groundbreaking opinion was hailed by Gabriel J. Chin, a professor at the University of California, Davis, School of Law, as “the most careful and thorough judicial examination” of collateral consequences in sentencing.

“It’s going to generate debate on a critical issue in the criminal ‘justice’ system — the ability of people convicted of crimes to get on with their lives,” said Chin, whom Block also quoted in his opinion.

Naturally, U.S. INC’s Attorney’s –office- is intent on perpetuating the status quo of swelling jails with nonviolent drug offenders. They insist that collateral consequences are “meant to promote public safety, by limiting an individual’s access to certain jobs or sensitive areas,” and “to ensure that [government] resources are being spent on those who obey the law.” <<B.S.

When the Code is unjust and the punishment unwarranted, it is the duty of free thinkers to resist. Let’s hope that Frederick Block, along with countless others bravely pushing back against state tyranny, can begin to undo the burden of mass incarceration.

Ron Gibson: The Federal Government is a Foreign Entity and has no Jurisdiction

How do people from different walks of life and backgrounds come to these same conclusions as Anna Von Reitz, never having known or talked to her. Could it be because it’s the TRUTH?

The controversy in the Patriot movement about the history of the Federal government being hijacked by foreign corporations is ongoing and getting more intense every day.   Who is right and who is wrong about these subjects bears heavily on the future of America. Unless we all pull together and get at the whole truth of this history it will be almost impossible to win our freedom back.  We certainly are NOT FREE now.

B.J. Soper took aim with his AR-15 semiautomatic rifle and fired a dozen shots at a human silhouette target. Soper’s wife and their 16-year-old daughter practiced drawing pistols. Then Soper helped his 4-year-old daughter, in pink sneakers and a ponytail, work on her marksmanship with a .22-caliber rifle.

Deep in the heart of a vast U.S. military training ground, surrounded by spent shotgun shells and juniper trees blasted to shreds, the Central Oregon Constitutional Guard was conducting its weekly firearms training.

“The intent is to be able to work together and defend ourselves if we need to,” said Soper, 40, a building contractor who is an emerging leader in a growing national movement rooted in distrust of the federal government, one that increasingly finds itself in armed conflicts with authorities.

Those in the movement call themselves patriots, demanding that the federal government adhere to the Constitution and stop what they see as systematic abuse of land rights, gun rights, freedom of speech and other liberties.

Law enforcement officials call them dangerous, delusional and sometimes violent, and say that their numbers are growing amid a wave of anger at the government that has been gaining strength since 2008, a surge that coincided with the election of the first black U.S. president and a crippling economic recession.

Soper started his group, which consists of about 30 men, women and children from a handful of families, two years ago as a “defensive unit” against “all enemies foreign and domestic.” Mainly, he’s talking about the federal government, which he thinks is capable of unprovoked aggression against its own people.

The group’s members are drywallers and flooring contractors, nurses and painters and high school students, who stockpile supplies, practice survival skills and “basic infantry” tactics, learn how to treat combat injuries, study the Constitution and train with their concealed handguns and combat-style rifles.

“It doesn’t say in our Constitution that you can’t stand up and defend yourself,” Soper said. “We’ve let the government step over the line and rule us, and that was never the intent of this country.”

and the watchdog groups that track the self-styled “patriot” groups call them anti-government extremists, militias, armed militants or even domestic terrorists. Some opponents of the largely white and rural groups have made fun by calling them “Y’all Qaeda” or “Vanilla ISIS.”

Mark Potok of the Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors extremism, said there were about 150 such groups in 2008 and about 1,000 now. Potok and other analysts, including law enforcement officials who track the groups, said their supporters number in the hundreds of thousands, counting people who signal their support in more passive ways, such as following the groups on social media. The Facebook page of the Oath Keepers, a group of former members of police forces and the military, for example, has more than 525,000 “likes.”

President Obama’s progressive policies and the tough economic times have inflamed anti-government anger, the same vein of rage into which Donald Trump has tapped during his Republican presidential campaign, said Potok and Mark Pitcavage, who works with the Anti-Defamation League and has monitored extremism for 20 years.

Much of the movement traces its roots to the deadly 1990s confrontations between civilians and federal agents at Ruby Ridge, Idaho, and in Waco, Tex., that resulted in the deaths of as many as 90. Timothy McVeigh cited both events before he was executed for the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing that killed 168 people, and said he had deliberately chosen a building housing federal government agencies.

Now a “Second Wave” is spreading across the country, especially in the West, fueled by the Internet and social media. J.J. MacNab, an author and George Washington University researcher who specializes in extremism, said social media has allowed individuals or small groups such as Soper’s to become far more influential than in the 1990s, when the groups would spread their message through meetings at local diners and via faxes.

The movement received a huge boost from the 2014 standoff at Cliven Bundy’s ranch in Nevada, where federal agents and hundreds of armed supporters of Bundy faced off in a dispute over the rancher’s refusal to pay fees to graze his cattle on federal land.

When federal agents backed down rather than risk a bloody clash, Bundy’s supporters claimed victory and were emboldened to stage similar armed face-offs last year at gold mines in Oregon and Montana.

In January, dozens of armed occupiers, led by Bundy’s sons Ammon and Ryan, took over the headquarters buildings of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge near rural Burns, Ore., an action that resulted in the death of Robert “LaVoy” Finicum, an occupier who was shot by state troopers.

Soper has been in the middle of all of it. He says he has tried to be a more moderate voice in a movement best known for its hotheads. He spent a month living in his RV at Burns, trying to talk the occupiers into standing down.

Two days after Soper’s last visit to the refuge, Finicum was killed in an operation in which the Bundys were arrested. An independent local investigation concluded that the shooting was justified, although the U.S. Justice Department is investigating several FBI agents for possible misconduct. Soper considers Finicum’s death “murder.”

That kind of talk is “a big deal,” said Stephanie Douglas, who retired in 2013 as the FBI’s top official overseeing foreign and domestic counterterrorism programs. “Free speech doesn’t make you a terrorist just because you disagree with the government. But if you start espousing violence and radicalizing your own people toward a violent act, the federal government is going to take notice.”

Shortly after the Bundy ranch confrontation, two of Bundy’s supporters who had been at the ranch, Jerad and Amanda Miller, killed two police officers and a civilian and also died in a Las Vegas shooting rampage. Police said the couple left a note on the body of one the officers they had shot point-blank.

It said: “This is the beginning of the revolution.”

UNTIL TWO YEARS AGO, B.J. Soper was a creature of ESPN.

Settled down after spending much of his 20s as a professional rodeo rider, he lived with his second wife and their two daughters on a pastoral plot of land with horses, dogs, cats, chickens and a majestic view of the snow-capped Cascades.

He spent his days building sheds and doing other small carpentry jobs, and his weekends watching sports on TV. He played softball. He hunted and fished. He followed his mother’s advice and stayed away from politics: She taught him young that registering to vote was just a way for the government to call you to jury duty.

Then the TV news was filled with footage from the Bundy ranch, and he was shocked. Government officials said Bundy had been abusing grazing rights and refusing to pay his fees for two decades, so they finally sent in armed agents to round up his cattle grazing on federal land. Officials said they had shown great restraint and patience with Bundy. But to Soper, it appeared that they were bullying him.

He wondered: “Do we really have federal armed agents out there pointing guns and threatening to kill people over cows? What in the hell is going on here?”

He started doing research on the Internet and quickly tapped into what seemed to be thousands of voices arguing that the federal government had lost track of the constitutional limits on its power.

“At that point, I had heard of Waco, Texas, and I had heard of Ruby Ridge, and quite honestly, I thought, ‘Oh, that’s just a bunch of crazies up there, and they got in a gunfight with the government,’ ” he said. “But that’s not the truth.”

The more he read, the more convinced he was that the government was “out of control,” and he was amazed by the number of people who felt the same way.

“I was very disappointed with myself,” he said. “I realized that we’re here in the predicament that we’re in as a country because my generation, and my parents’ generation, have done nothing. We let this happen. We got used to our cushy lives where everything’s easy. We have forgotten what’s really important. We’ve forgotten what liberty and freedom really mean.”

It was like being shaken out of a lifetime of slumber, he said: “Before 2014, I was blind. I wasn’t awake. I wasn’t paying attention. But Bundy Ranch woke me up.”

Suddenly, his weekends watching the San Francisco 49ers or the Portland Trail Blazers seemed like anesthesia numbing him against real life.

“I lived like 90 percent of Americans, oblivious to everything that was going on, from the time I was 18 until the Bundy Ranch happened,” he said. “I just said, ‘I can’t sit back and do nothing. I’ve got to get involved.’ I feel responsible for where we’re at, because I’ve done nothing my entire life.”

His response was to start his Central Oregon Constitutional Guard, which he said was partly to protect against the government, but partly a way to get back to a simpler America.

“As a kid, life was easy,” he says on the group’s website. “No worries. Very little threats. I would ride my bike around all over the neighborhood for hours on end. Play with friends and show back up for dinner without worry.”

Critics say such talk is naive nostalgia for a 1950s America that wasn’t ever really such a homespun paradise in the first place. And they say the groups that have sprung up in response are far more dangerous than Soper and others want to make them seem.

“The idea that he needs to face down the government with weapons I think is really, really wrong,” Potok said. “They don’t really say that, but I think that is what is right under the surface.”

Soper’s research also led him to some of the Internet’s favorite conspiracy theories, including a purported U.N. plot to impose “One World Government.” And Soper, like most in the patriot movement, became a believer.

He suspects that the United Nations, through a program called Agenda 21, wants to reduce the global population from 7 billion to fewer than 1 billion. He said the federal government may be promoting abortions overseas as part of that plot, and also may be deliberately mandating childhood vaccines designed to cause autism because autistic adults are less likely to have children.

Soper said he could not rule out the possibility that the U.S. government was behind the 9/11 attacks. He suspects that the government and the “medical community” have had a cancer cure for years but won’t release it because cancer treatment is too profitable for pharmaceutical companies.

“I’m not saying that’s the case,” he said, “but I like to look at all avenues.”

Soper knows those ideas sound crazy to many people, but, he said with a laugh, “It shows I just don’t trust my government.”

Those who track these groups say paranoid conspiracy theories and armed occupations undercut often-legitimate disagreements with federal policies.

Tom Gorey, a spokesman for the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM), the lead agency at the Bundy ranch, said Soper and the others have “taken an aggressive anti-federal, anti-BLM posture because of [their] bizarre and discredited interpretation of the U.S. Constitution and paranoid views of the federal government.”

Said Potok: “People having nutty ideas is of very little importance except when those ideas begin to affect their actions. An awful lot of people have acted violently in defense of some of these ideas.”

JUST BEFORE DUSK ONE RECENT EVENING, 10 people hopped out of pickups on the shoulder of Route 97 in Redmond and began picking up litter near an Adopt-a-Highway sign that said “Central Oregon Constitutional Guard.”

Soper said being a patriot sometimes means spending a couple of hours picking up bottles, cans and even rotting fur from a road-kill deer — all while carrying a concealed .45-caliber pistol on his hip.

“It’s like American Express — don’t leave home without it,” said Soper, working alongside his wife, Lisa Soper, also packing a .45 in her jeans.

Passing drivers beeped and gave thumbs ups.

A white BMW pulled over and the driver approached Soper.

“You guys the Central Oregon Constitutional Guard?” he asked.

“Yeah, we are,” Soper said. “You interested?”

“I saw you guys on Facebook,” said Glenn Golter, 42, a flooring contractor whose clothes were covered with dust after a day’s work. “I like it that you stick up for our constitutional rights.”

Soper invited Golter to join the group for its monthly meeting at a local pizza restaurant right after the cleanup. And just like that, the movement had a new member.

They drove to Straw Hat Pizza, in a strip mall on the edge of this high-desert town of 30,000 people in the Cascade Range foothills. Lisa picked some healthy greens for her husband from the salad bar, while the children and the other guys in the group ate thick, cheesy pizzas.

Across the family-style table, Alex McNeely, 25, a drywaller and “avid YouTuber,” said he became interested in the patriot movement online and joined the group to feel that he was helping to defend the country.

“There’s this D.C. mentality that if you stand up for your rights, you’re dangerous and anti-government,” said McNeely, who has an AK-47 assault rifle tattooed on his forearm. “But if I’m denied my rights, what else can I do? Am I just going to stand there and take it, or am I going to do something?”

In the Constitutional Guard, McNeely said, “I feel what we do is stand up for people who don’t have the means to stand up for themselves. I have an overwhelming desire to help people.”

They have passed out more than 2,000 pocket-size copies of the Constitution that Soper said he bought for $500, sent food and clothes to victims of forest fires in Washington state and Oregon and given Christmas presents to more than three dozen needy children.

McNeely considered joining the military when he graduated from high school, but he turned 18 the month Obama was elected in 2008, and, because of Obama’s “socialist” policies, “I wasn’t going to accept him as my commander in chief.”

“I don’t like that he wants to fundamentally change America,” McNeely said.

The group members are conservatives, do not like former secretary of state Hillary Clinton and generally support Donald Trump. Soper said he would prefer just about anyone over Clinton but would not cast a vote for president this year. He said he thinks casting his vote is “a waste of time” because Oregon’s politics are dominated by Democrats.

MacNab, the George Washington University researcher, said Trump has been a powerful recruiting tool for groups angry at the government. “The tea party built little bridges between the fringe and the mainstream,” she said. “With Trump, it’s an 18-lane superhighway. He’s literally telling them they’re right.”

One of the men indicted in the Bundy ranch case is Gerald DeLemus, who was New Hampshire co-chair of Veterans for Trump and was named by the Trump campaign as a New Hampshire alternate delegate to the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

Soper looks at a copy of the U.S. Constitution at his home. He carries a pocket-size copy of the document with him at all times.

Soper bristles when critics call him anti-government; he said he supports the government but just wants it to follow the Constitution. And he said calling his group “armed” is as relevant as saying its members wear boots, because the Second Amendment gives every American the right to carry a gun.

Soper, who carries a pocket Constitution with him everywhere, said he thinks the Constitution does not give the federal government the right to own land, and that the government’s increasing emphasis on environmental regulations is putting ranchers, miners, loggers and others out of work and devastating local economies.

“We need to be able to raise and grow food,” Soper said. “Wealth comes from the land. I want to take into consideration endangered frogs. But at the same time, that frog can’t be more important than the survival of the human race.”

Everyone in the group keeps 30 days’ worth of food and emergency supplies on hand. Group members learn gardening and raising livestock. They go camping and learn survival tactics, including how to fashion a shelter, find food and water, and make a fire.

McNeely and Lisa Soper are taking an emergency medical technician class to learn to treat wounds, including combat trauma. They all are working on getting ham-radio licenses to communicate in the event that the cellphone network fails.

But a bedrock of their mission is to be an armed and trained paramilitary force. Soper said group members train on “basic infantry” skills: “working a patrol, patrolling with a vehicle, arriving at ‘contact’ and how to protect yourself and escape from that.”

“We are not soldiers,” Soper said. “But we know the basics.”

Soper said the group would be ready for an earthquake or other natural disaster, but he’s most concerned about “man-made disasters” caused by the government.

“I don’t know that it’s all that far-fetched that we have an economic collapse,” he said. “The dollar is a pretty scary investment anymore. China’s buying up all the gold. When people get hungry and thirsty and can’t feed themselves, they get desperate.”

In April 2015, Soper pulled on his paramilitary camouflage fatigues, picked up his AR-15 rifle and spent a couple of weeks “standing guard” at the Sugar Pine Mine in southwestern Oregon, where miners were having a dispute with the BLM.

The agency had ordered two miners to cease operations because they had built structures at the site in violation of the terms of their permit to mine on federal land.

The miners said the federal government was trying to force them out of business and steal their property. They also said BLM agents who served the cease-and-desist paperwork had pointed guns at them. Gorey, the BLM spokesman, said no agent ever drew a weapon.

Supporters of the miners put out a national call on YouTube for volunteers to help them, and Soper went.

“The government showed up and pointed guns at these miners,” Soper said. “Put yourself in their shoes. How are you going to respond? When you are in fear for your life, you have a right to defend yourself.”

Gorey said agents followed proper procedure at Sugar Pine and did not threaten anyone. “We’re a scapegoat for these militiamen who seem eager to wage war against the federal government,” he said.

A federal judge eventually ordered the BLM not to enforce its order until the matter could be heard in an Interior Department appeals court, where it is pending.

“The last thing I ever want to do is point a gun at another American,” Soper said. “But when the BLM picks up guns against us, when is it okay for us to defend ourselves?”

As Soper sipped a soda at the pizza parlor, his 4-year-old daughter, Kalley, asked him for more quarters to play video games. He handed over a few with a gently teasing roll of his eyes.

“We’re the guys that see the wolves for what they are,” Soper said as watched her bounce away. “And we want to protect the sheep.”

ON A RECENT FRIDAY MORNING, Soper had been at his laptop since 5 a.m., typing a furious letter to his county sheriff.

Soper had awoken to the news that government agents had arrested a dozen people in connection with the 2014 standoff at the Bundy ranch. That meant a total of 19 people, including Cliven Bundy, now faced obstruction-of-justice and firearms charges that Soper thought were unfair. He was also enraged that Bundy’s sons were still being held without bail over the occupation at the wildlife refuge.

“People are being detained without due process,” he said. “These are not our American values.”

If Bundy and his supporters faced charges, Soper said, so should the federal agents who faced off against them: “Why should law enforcement be held to a different standard?”

“The last thing I want is violence,” Soper said. “But I hope they see that if we continue down this path, we’re going to have more bloodshed in this country.”

Soper said the answer to grievances with the government is negotiation, not violence. But he said that when federal agents draw weapons on citizens without cause, citizens have the right to answer guns with guns.

“We have the right to defend ourselves from imminent danger or death,” Soper said. “I don’t believe that excludes law enforcement. When they’re not doing their duty justly, I think you have a right to defend yourself.”

Soper kept typing, warning that the government had lost “common sense.”

“I pray we find some sense of it again, otherwise a very dark future awaits us, and it is not very far down the road,” he wrote.

“Sheriff,” he said, “people are going to die.”

Now I sit me down in school

Where praying is against the rule

For this great nation under God

Finds mention of Him very odd.

If scripture now the class recites,

It violates the Bill of Rights.

And anytime my head I bow

Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,

That’s no offense; it’s a freedom scene.

The law is specific, the law is precise,

Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall

Might offend someone with no faith at all.

In silence alone we must meditate,

God’s name is prohibited by the State.

We’re allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,

And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.

They’ve outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible,

To quote the Good Book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,

And the unwed-daddy’ our Senior King.

It’s inappropriate to teach right from wrong,

We’re taught that such judgments do not belong.

We can get our condoms and birth control,

Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.

But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,

No word of God must reach this crowd.

It’s scary here I must confess,

When chaos reigns the school’s a mess.

So, Lord, this silent plea I make:

Should I be shot; My soul please take!

Jesus said, “If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you before my Father.”

Caught on video: California Sen. Richard Pan FLEES on foot after VAXXED filmmakers attempt to confront him over vaccine mandate

(NaturalNews) California Sen. Richard Pan, who spearheaded the SB 277 vaccine mandate in California that will damage countless children from vaccine adverse events, was caught on video fleeing VAXXED documentary filmmakers.

As revealed in the video below, VAXXED filmmakers Del Bigtree and Andrew Wakefield visited Sen. Pan’s office in the hopes of opening a discussion with him about vaccine safety and the fundamental human rights of medical choice.

First, Sen. Pan’s staff lied to the visitors, falsely telling them Pan wasn’t there. That’s when he tried to sneak out a back door and flee the scene.

But he was caught on camera, fleeing down the hallway as Del Bigtree gave chase. Watch this video to see for yourself:

The true cowardice of Calif. Sen. Richard Pan on full display

Now we see the true colors of Sen. Richard Pan, a coward and medical child molester who talks a big game when he’s pushing medical interventions that harm children. But when he’s faced with people who want to discuss the real issues, he flees down a hallway and into a secure area, protected by men with guns and badges.

Why are we not surprised?

Sen. Richard Pan, like all vaccine fanatics, routinely refuse to answer to the people whose children he condemns to being maimed and even killed by toxic vaccine ingredients that are forced upon them. He has no problem violating the law to pass Big Pharma’s vaccine agenda, but refuses to honor the greater laws of human rights and medical choice.

Sen. Pan, a proven liar about vaccines, mirrors the total lack of ethics found among all the other vaccine pushers, including the fugitive from justice Dr. Poul Thorsen, the psychopathic info-terrorist Dr. David Gorski, and CDC sellouts who violate children for profit so they can land lucrative jobs with the vaccine industry.

What all these vaccine pushing miscreants and fraud artists have in common is a total abandonment of medical ethics and human rights. They believe the state shall use coercion, the threat of force and the threat of kidnapping children to force parents into subjecting their own children to toxic, sometimes deadly medical interventions that irrefutably harm and kill a growing number of children.

Now that vaccines are mandatory in California, their next project will be to legislate mandatory organ harvesting from everyone, totally against their will.

Fleeing the scene of the legislative crime like a common thug

People like Sen. Richard Pan are, in effect, baby killers… and they carry so much shame that they literally flee the scene like a common criminal when documentary filmmakers seek to ask them some simple questions. Watch Sen. Richard Pan’s behavior to learn how medical criminals really operate. The man is a shameless destroyer of innocent lives, and he flees to the darkness of a government basement like a human cockroach scurrying away from the light.

We expected exactly this from you, Sen. Richard Pan. You are a disgrace to humanity and a medical molester of children. Scurry while you can… the light of transparency is now shining upon you and revealing the truth about who you really are.

“Pan is nothing less than a coward and traitor to God given, natural, common law and constitutional rights,” says Ricardo Beas in posting a common on the video. He goes on to state:

Reptilian vaccine serpent and baby molester Richard Pan is just getting warmed up for his assault on innocent lives everywhere…

Here’s a summary of just a few of the evil deeds Richard Pan, a doctor with ties to the AMA and CDC, has committed: (from this Natural News article):

• Took tens of thousands of dollars in campaign money from drug companies.

• Aggressively pushed California’s SB 277 radical vaccine mandate which eliminates vaccines exemptions and obliterates medical choice.

• Is a believer in “medical extremism” that invokes highly unethical, government-forced interventions that violate established medical ethics and fundamental human rights. Essentially, Richard Pan believe in “gunpoint medicine.”

• Violates the American Medical Association’s Code of Medical Ethics which demands informed consent and a patient’s choice on all medical interventions.

• Strips away from mothers and families their right to decide on medical interventions for their own children. Essentially hands over parental rights to the government, turning moms and dads into surrogate placeholders for the state.

• Blatantly lies about the issue of mercury in vaccines, falsely claiming mercury has been removed from all vaccines given to children. In fact, flu shots given to children and pregnant women are still made with mercury.

• Betrayed the very people who put him into office. After they voted him into power by exercising their free choice, he used that power to deny them medical choice.

• Falsely claims vaccines are completely safe, even when vaccines routinely cause brain damage, autism, comas, seizures and even death. Read the top 10 lies about SB 277 and vaccines here.

• Denies the children of California their right to a public education unless their parents surrender to the demands of the corrupt, criminally-run vaccine industry. This harkens back to the slave plantation days when slave owners barred their human “property” from learning how to read.

• Holds a personal philosophy of medical tyranny that’s perfectly aligned with the murderous regime of North Korea. If Richard Pan moved to North Korea, he’d probably be made the regime’s Surgeon General.

• Is an obvious promoter of scientific totalitarianism which says that corporate-run science has the power to demand absolute obedience to government-enforced medical mandates.

• Violated California state law by interfering with a citizens’ referendum that would nullify SB 277.

• Serves as a puppet of the pharmaceutical industry, an industry steeped in admitted felony crimes, bribery, price fixing, experimentation on humans and other large-scale crimes. Richard Pan receives his “marching orders” from this criminal cabal (in addition to campaign cash).

Mom Faces Down SWAT Team And MRAP For Refusing To Give Daughter Deadly Antipsychotic Drug

MAY 17, 2016
By Matt Agorist

Suicide, birth defects, heart problems, hostility, violence, aggression, hallucinations, self-harm, delusional thinking, homicidal ideation, and death are just a few of the side effects caused by psychiatric medication.

There have been 150 studies in seventeen countries on antidepressant-induced side effects. There have been 134 drug regulatory agency warnings from eleven countries and the EU warning about the dangerous side effects of antidepressants.

Despite this deadly laundry list of potential reactions to these medications, the use of antidepressants and antipsychotics has skyrocketed by 400% since 1988.

Currently, 11 percent of all Americans 12 years of age and over take antidepressant medication, this is a higher rate than all other countries in the world.

While the skyrocketing use of psychiatric drugs in adults is certainly worrisome, the exponential increase of use in children is downright scary.

The following information is the most accurate and documented data available on psychiatric drug usage in the United States. The information is from IMS Health, a company that provides information, services and technology for the healthcare industry. It is the largest vendor of U.S. physician prescribing data. The following data was taken from IMS Health Vector One National database Year 2013, Extracted April 2014.

The numbers are startling.

According to Dr. Allen Frances, author of Saving Normalone of the reasons we are seeing such a steep incline in American children being prescribed these drugs is that primary care physicians, not psychiatrists, are doling out these drugs like candy. According to Dr. Frances, the primary care doctor is not nearly as qualified to prescribe these drugs, and most of them are doing so based on the information given to them by entirely unqualified pharmaceutical sales reps.

Even more disturbing than the growing trend in psychiatric drug use is the fact that the State will remove children from their parents for refusing to give these dangerous and untested drugs to their kids.

Last week, a Detroit mother, Maryanne Godboldo, was the subject of her 5th appeal by the prosecutor’s office for the ‘crime’ of preventing her child from being forced to take a psychiatric medicine.

Godboldo made international headlines in 2011 when she refused to administer a dangerous psychiatric drug to her daughter, resulting in Child Protective Services (CPS) assaulting her civil and human rights to the extent that many could not believe this could occur in America. The truth is any parent could be targeted by the mental health system via CPS and lose their rights as a parent, as reported by the Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR).

On February 17, 2010, Maryanne Godboldo was told to put her daughter Ariana on the antipsychotic drug Risperdal.

There have been 39 studies in eight countries on Risperdal highlighting the horrid side-effects of this drug. (United States, Denmark, United Kingdom, Spain, Canada, New Zealand, Japan and Italy). These include the following (note that some studies cite more than one side-effect, so the list below may not be equal to the total number of studies):

8 studies on Risperdal causing death or increased risk of death
7 studies on Risperdal causing weight gain
4 studies on Risperdal causing heart problems
3 studies on Risperdal causing diabetes
3 studies on Risperdal causing blood disorders
2 studies on Risperdal causing sleep problems
2 studies on Risperdal causing stroke
2 studies on Risperdal showing lack of efficacy
2 studies on Risperdal causing Parkinson’s Disease
1 study on Risperdal causing cognitive decline
1 study on Risperdal causing sexual dysfunction
1 study on Risperdal causing Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome (a life-threatening neurological disorder)
1 study on Risperdal causing violence

After watching her daughter experience some of these severe side-effects from the drug, she consulted another doctor and they slowly weaned her off of it.

When social services found out that Maryanne had taken her daughter off the drug, they took legal and physical action to force her hand. On March 24, 2011, social services, accompanied by the Detroit Police SWAT team and an illegal order, forcibly entered Maryanne’s home to remove Ariana, citing Maryanne’s refusal to give her Risperdal.

CCHR explains what happened next.

  • A 10-hour standoff ensued between Maryanne and the Detroit Police’s “Special Response Team.”
  • Maryanne made phone calls to the leaders of the Detroit community to help her in the effort to save her child.
  • On March 25, 2011, in the early morning hours, Maryanne agreed to turn over her daughter only after the police and CPS assured her that Ariana would be placed in the custody of Maryanne’s sister, Penny Godboldo and would NOT be drugged. This was the agreement between Maryanne, the police and CPS.
  • Social services lied to Maryanne: They placed Ariana at the Hawthorn Center, a state-run juvenile psychiatric facility.
  • At Hawthorn, psychiatrist George Mellos prescribed Ariana a powerful antipsychotic drug despite the fact he did not have her medical records nor the consent of her mother, Maryanne.

It took Maryanne several days to locate her daughter and find out where she’d been taken. When they finally found her, Ariana was so doped up on Risperdal that she was drooling and despondent.

Days later, Maryanne was arrested and charged with 8 felony counts for trying to protect her daughter from being kidnapped.

Eventually, the charges would all be dropped and Maryanne and Ariana would be reunited again.

This happy ending, however, would soon come to an abrupt end as Detroit prosecutor Kym Worthy has made it her mission to continue to attack this woman.

According to Maryanne, the criminal case is on “stay” as well as a lawsuit filed against the city and they are going broke fighting the continued appeals against them by the prosecutors office.

“All I have ever wanted to do is to protect my child, and we want very much to be able to get on with our lives and get this case behind us,” Maryanne said.

However, law enforcement working on behalf of a criminal medical industry are making that nearly impossible. Maryanne’s family has since set up a Go Fund Me account to garner support for their legal fees in the battle against medical tyranny.

It is important to note that there are certainly people, of all ages, who can benefit from certain prescription medication.

However, there are 26,000 babies under the age of 12 months who are prescribed antidepressants like Prozac and Zoloft. Another 274,000 babies under 12 months are on anti-anxiety medication such as Valium and Xanax. Between the ages of 1-5, those numbers jump up into the millions!

To top off this incredible medical blunder, these prescriptions are written off-label, meaning that there is absolutely no evidence to show that these drugs work in children. There are people out there with the letters M and D attached to the back of their names who are trusted by society. They are betraying this trust by giving 188,000 children between the ages of 0-5 ADHD medicine that is in the same class as crystal meth.

To reiterate the dangerous premise of overmedicating children in such a manner, with drugs that aren’t even proven to help them in any way, and are in fact dangerous, let’s revisit the first sentence of this article again.

Suicide, birth defects, heart problems, hostility, violence, aggression, hallucinations, self-harm, delusional thinking, homicidal ideation, and death are just a few of the side effects caused by psychiatric medication.

Aside from the known side-effects, there are incidents of the drug companies deliberately falsifying the safety data and allowing a known dangerous drug to be given to children. For years, GlaxoSmithKline was illegally persuading doctors to prescribe paroxetine, sold under the brand name Paxil, as an antidepressant for children and teenagers.

GSK used contrived data, known as Study 329, which was conducted and funded by the drug company and published in 2001, to convince the doctors to write prescriptions. The study made the claim that Paxil is “well tolerated and effective” for kids. Their bolstered claims worked, and in 2002 alone, doctors wrote two million Paxil prescriptions for children and adolescents.

What we voluntarily choose to put into our bodies and our children’s bodies is of no concern to the State. When the State attempts to force society to ingest medication, it must be resisted. History is riddled with governments laying waste to human life through forced or experimental medical practices. We shall not be so ignorant as to embark down the same path.

Please share this article with your friends and family to empower them with knowledge while at the same time exposing such a dangerous practice.

Packing Heat: Missouri Lawmakers Expand Gun Rights, OK “Concealed Carry Without Permit”

MAY 16, 2016
By Mac Slavo

While so much of propaganda about gun control has been inundating the country and clouding the debate about the 2nd Amendment in effort to restrict firearms, the state of Missouri just surprised everyone by actually expanding gun rights!

The heavily Republican legislature just passed a bill in both the Senate and House allowing people to carry concealed without needing a permit, and without requiring training. Moreover, it reinforced the state’s Castle Doctrine and Stand Your Ground statutes.

via the NY Times:

Missouri lawmakers have passed a sweeping expansion of gun rights in the state, one that would allow people to carry concealed guns without requiring permits and widen their right to stand and fight against perceived threats.

Under the measure, most people would be able to carry concealed guns, even if they have not completed the training currently required to obtain a permit.

The legislation would also expand the state’s “castle doctrine” by allowing invited guests, such as babysitters, to use deadly force against intruders. It would also create a “stand your ground” right, meaning people would not have to retreat from danger in any place they are legally entitled to be present.

Symbolically, Missouri essentially put up a giant “Come and Take It” in defiance of all those who would disarm Americans and usher in a crime-ridden, heavily bureaucratic and debased police state.

Of course, it has gun control advocates steaming, and attempting to argue that the bill will create more violence.

While many Democrats denounced it, Republican supporters of the bill described the measures as reasonable approaches to personal safety.

“To me, this is modern-day lynching,” said another Democrat, State Representative Kimberly Gardner of St. Louis. “This bill would allow open season for vigilante-style behavior and put all of us at risk.”

As of now, it is unclear if Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon will sign the bill, or veto it and force a legislative fight. But a message has been signaled, loud and clear.

Americans do NOT want to give up their guns, and will do everything they can to protect themselves in self-defense from anyone who would attempt to disarm them.

With so much of the country eroding into liberal la-la land, this is one state that understands and honors the intent of the founders in framing the Constitution to empower ordinary citizens against criminals, both within and without government.

As the NY Times notes, the trend is swinging back towards free and open gun rights… a possible sign that gun control efforts, despite deep pockets and incessant appeals to emotion involving children and other victims of gun violence, have fallen on deaf ears.

Ten other states already have what supporters describe as “constitutional carry” laws allowing concealed guns without permits, including ones enacted this year in Idaho, Mississippi and West Virginia, according to the National Rifle Association.

No doubt that is why President Obama has resorted to using executive actions to impose gun control, and why Hillary Clinton is talking openly about using the executive pen to restrict rights, rather than even attempt to jam rights-restricting legislation through the Congress at the federal level.

Do you think this is a big win for the 2nd Amendment?

By Michael Snyder

Why are millions upon millions of dead sea creatures suddenly washing up on beaches all over the world?  It is certainly not unusual for fish and other inhabitants of our oceans to die.  This happens all the time.  But over the past month we have seen a series of extremely alarming mass death incidents all over the planet.  As you will see below, many of these mass death incidents have involved more than 30 tons of fish.  In places such as Chile and Vietnam, it has already gotten to the level where it has started to become a major national crisis.  People see their coastlines absolutely buried in dead sea creatures, and they are starting to freak out.

For example, just check out what is going on in Chile right now.  The following comes from aSmithsonian Magazine article entitled “Why Are Chilean Beaches Covered With Dead Animals?“…

Compared to other countries, Chile is almost all coast, and that geographical fluke means that the country is known for its beautiful beaches. But that reputation may be on the wane thanks to a new sight on Chilean shores: dead animals. Lots of them. Heaps of them, in fact. As Giovanna Fleitas reports for the Agence France-Presse, the South American country’s beaches are covered with piles of dead sea creatures—and scientists are trying to figure out why.

Tales of dead animals washing up on shore are relatively common; after all, the ocean has a weird way of depositing its dead on shore. But Chile’s problem is getting slightly out of hand. As Fleitas writes, recent months have not been kind to the Chilean coast, which has played host to washed-up carcasses of over 300 whales, 8,000 tons of sardines, and nearly 12 percent of the country’s annual salmon catch, to name a few.

Authorities in Chile are scrambling to come up with a reason for why this is happening, but nobody appears to be quite sure what is causing this tsunami of death.

In Vietnam, things are even worse.  At this point, so many dead fish and clams have been washing up along the coast that soldiers have been deployed to bury them

Millions of fish have washed up dead along a 125-kilometre stretch of the Vietnamese coast in one of the communist country’s worst environmental disasters.

Soldiers have been deployed to bury tonnes of fish, clams and the occasional whale that began dying in early April along the north-central coast, including some popular tourist beaches.

Vietnamese officials facing growing anger over the disaster have not announced the official cause of the deaths, which have affected the livelihoods of tens of thousands of families.

Elsewhere in Asia, there have been similar incidents.  For example, CNN is reporting that one lake in southern China is currently dealing with 35 tons of dead fish…

At least 35 tons of dead fish appeared in a lake in southern China, leaving residents stunned.

The piles of fish washed up in a lake in Hainan province on Wednesday, Chinese state media reported.

Residents expressed concerns on pollution, but local authorities said the fish died as a result of salinity change.

On the other side of the world, similar incidents have also happened in major lakes.  Here is one example from Bolivia

Thousands of dead fish have washed up onto the shores of a lake in Bolivia.

Just before they died, some of the fish had just hatched from their eggs in lake Alalay, in the central Bolivian city of Cochabamba.

No one yet knows the number of dead fish, but they have stockpiled five cubic metres (177 cubic feet) so far, so it’s possible there is over a tonne of dead fish in the lake.

And here is an example from Brazil

More than 200 tons of dead fish were removed from the Furnas Lake on Sunday (1st) in Alfenas (MG).According to the Military Police of the Environment, both fish raised in ponds, networks and those who are released, all of the tilapia species in the lake were affected. The damage to the psicultores is estimated at around R $ 900 thousand.

I could go on and on all day with examples such as these.

Just within the last month, 40 tons of fish died in India, 65 tons of fish died in Cambodia, 70 tons of fish died in Colombia, and millions of fish “suddenly died” in Indonesia.

So why is this happening?

I don’t know.

Could it be possible that these mass deaths are somehow related to the alarming earth changes that we see happening all around us?

Without a doubt, we have seen a dramatic rise in seismic activity during the early portions of 2016.  There has been a series of very destructive earthquakes around the world in recent months, and once dormant volcanoes are coming to life all over the globe with distressing regularity.

Of course humanity has done much to destroy the planet as well, and we continue to deal with the aftermath of the Fukushima nuclear disaster.  I do think that it is very interesting to note that most of these mass fish deaths have happened in nations that border the Pacific Ocean.

I am certainly not claiming to have an answer for why so many fish are dying.  All I know is that millions upon millions of dead fish are washing up on shores all over the globe, and people are really starting to freak out about this.

We live in a world that is becoming increasingly unstable, and major disasters seem to be getting more frequent and more intense.  Just look at what is happening up in Alberta right now.

I believe that we are entering the “perfect storm” that myself and so many others have been warning about for so long.

Or could it be possible that I am just being overly dramatic?
